WATCH: You’ll never guess who auditioned for American Idol this week

First he decided he was running for President of the United States in 2020 and now he wants to become the next American Idol?

We can’t keep up, Kanye.

The rapper surprised the judges - Harry Connick Jr., Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban - when he strolled into the audition room in San Francisco on Saturday.

Just like us normal folk.

Although of course West performed his own smash-hit “Gold Digger” to the delight of Jennifer Lopez, who gets a mention in the song.

His wife Kim Kardashian was waiting outside the audition room with host Ryan Seacrest and Instagrammed a snapshot of the moment the judges laid their eyes on the next Idol hopeful with the caption "SURPRISE!".

Seacrest - who also produces Keeping Up With the Kardashians - posted this photo with the caption, “Look who’s going to Hollywood”.

Pity he just missed out on auditions for The Voice Ireland.
