Walsh resists calls for change to Byrne's repertoire

Louis Walsh has said that he has no plans to change his approach to mentoring Irish singer Mary Byrne on 'The X Factor'.

The supermarket worker has been known for belting out classic tracks on the reality show, but has come in for criticism from the other judges for not singing more contemporary songs.

"I know what I'm doing with Mary," insisted Walsh. "She's a big singer, she's an old-fashioned crooner, and there's nobody else on the show like that."
