Waissel 'fine' after threat to quit 'X Factor'

Katie Waissel is now "feeling fine" after dramatically threatening to quit 'X Factor' earlier this week.

The 24-year-old hopeful - who faced a huge public backlash after she was controversially put through to the final 16 contestants - collapsed during an all-expenses-paid shopping spree at Topshop in central London on Wednesday evening before heading home to her family, and told them the show's punishing schedule had become too much.

A source said: "She was really shaken up after passing out. She kept saying: 'I'm quitting - I can't take any more.'

"Everyone expected her to be gone by the weekend. This was really serious. She told bosses she feels it isn't worth the physical and emotional strain."

Her brother-in-law, Glenn Davis, added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Her schedule is very hectic and she's exhausted. We were very worried."

However, after speaking to her family, Katie has decided to stay in the competition.

A show spokesperson said: "Katie felt unwell and there were first-aiders on hand. She's feeling fine today."
