'Unknown' sought to play Ozzy Osbourne on big screen

Sharon Osbourne has told of plans to cast an “unknown” 18-year-old to play husband Ozzy in a movie of his life – but said daughter Kelly would have to audition if she wanted to play her mother.

Backstage at this year’s O2 Silver Clef Awards, Osbourne told how the search is on for a youngster to play the legendary Black Sabbath frontman.

Names of top Hollywood stars such as Johnny Depp have already been linked to the role.

But Osbourne said: “We’re looking for an unknown because I think that when an actor is portraying someone who’s alive it’s very, very tough. We’re looking for a young 18-year-old.”

Asked if daughter Kelly would play her in the movie, she said: “She’ll have to audition for it.”
