Twin girls for Lisa Marie Presley

Lisa Marie Presley has become a mother again, her publicist said today.

The 40-year-old singer gave birth on Tuesday to twin girls, whose names have not yet been released.

One baby weighed 5lb 15oz (2.7kg) and the other 5lb 2oz (2.3kg).

A statement released today said Presley gave birth by Caesarean section.

The singer lives in the Los Angeles area and her publicist said the births took place somewhere on the West Coast but would not give details.

The statement said: “Babies and mom are happy and healthy and resting at home.”

Presley is the daughter of Elvis Presley and is married to music producer Michael Lockwood. She has a 19-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son from a previous marriage.
