Thicke hoping to reunite with wife

Robin Thicke is trying to win Paula Patton back.

The 'Blurred Lines' singer and his wife announced they have split after almost nine years of marriage earlier this week, but as he landed in Washington D.C. yesterday afternoon ahead of a show, he said he is hoping they will get back together.

He told TMZ.com: "I'm just trying to get her back."

When questioned further, he added: "You know, [I'm] just trying to figure it out, man."

Robin - who has a three-year-old son, Julian, with Paula - cancelled two concerts ahead of announcing the couple's split, but posted a message thanking his fans for their support and saying he's looking forward to resuming his tour on his website.

He wrote: "I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me. I'm looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington, D.C. this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!"

Meanwhile it has emerged Paula had a huge argument with the 'Blurred Lines' singer following his appearance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last year, which featured the 21-year-old star Twerking against him. Paula is said to have found the incident insulting, particularly as it took place in front of a huge national TV audience. She is also said to be furious with Robin's insistence on continuing to party at clubs and frequently being pictured with various women.
