The Xtra Factor's Sarah-Jane Crawford confirms her exit

Sarah-Jane Crawford has confirmed she won’t be back to present The Xtra Factor this year.

The presenter will follow in main show host Dermot O’Leary’s footsteps by leaving the programme after rumours that there would be a shake-up in the format for the coming series.

Sarah-Jane hasn’t yet revealed what her new project will be.

Dermot chose to leave his role earlier his year and will be replaced by former Xtra Factor presenting duo Olly Murs, who was also a previous contestant, and Caroline Flack.

At the moment, it isn’t clear who will join Simon Cowell on the judging panel – Mel B will not return and there has been no news about Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. Simon also seemed to suggest that Louis Walsh would not return in a recent tweet.

Meanwhile, Cheryl cryptically posted on Instagram: “#Mondaymayhem when you hear some juicy gossip that you know is true ooooh..”
