'The September Issue' a revealing look into fashion world

Director: R.J. Culter

Cast: Grace Coddington, Anna Wintour

Cert: PG

This slightly off-beat documentary will certainly appeal to the fashionistas … a look at what goes into the publishing of Vogue’s iconic September issue, the magazine’s most important annual production.

The film follows the detailed planning, the high dramas of selecting what appears in the glossy pages, the artistic spats and the tensions.

It also tries, with less success, to find out what makes Vogue editor Wintour – a powerful, tough cookie – tick through a series of talking heads, the most revealing of which is her friend and colleague Coddington, who turns out to be a much warmer person.

Star Rating: 3/5
