Sue Perkins will be missing from the Bake Off tent

Sue Perkins will be absent from the Great British Bake Off tent in the latest episode.

The presenter leaves co-host Mel Giedroyc to go it alone, as the bakers take on biscuits.

But don’t fret Bake Off fans, Sue will be back next week.

The TV star has not said why she doesn’t appear in the second episode, but it has been reported that it is because a bereavement prevented her from filming earlier this year.

Bake Off returned last week and set an audience record, with 10.4 million people tuning in for the first episode of the seventh series.
