Skepta is opening a music centre in Tottenham

After a Mercury Prize-nominated album and a couple of years the likes of which nobody in grime has seen before, Skepta is giving back to the youth.

The North London MC is opening a music centre in Tottenham, right in the community, giving young people the opportunity to learn about music, recording, production and everything that’s needed to succeed in music in 2016.

Students will even be able to spend time with Skepta and other music experts.

“I want to show the young generation that success is not something you search for externally, it is from within. Help people to understand that all your thoughts and ideas can become reality with a bit of hard work and dedication.” said Skepta.

It’s not his only youth-centred project either. Skeppy is involved in the Levi Music Project, which aims to give young people access to music education, and will culminate in a Revolutions Weekender: A Festival Of Peace, Love And Music performance at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The weekend of performances takes place between November 4 and 6.
