Hollywood golden couple Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have broken up after 23 years together, their publicist said.
Teal Cannady said Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, separated over the summer.
They met while shooting the 1988 film 'Bull Durham', in which Robbins played a hot-shot pitcher and Sarandon the passionate fan who simultaneously seduced him and prepared him for the big leagues.
One of Hollywood’s most enduring couples, Sarandon and Robbins never married. Instead, they have been compared to other long-time Hollywood pairs who never officially tied the knot, such as Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell or Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman.
Sarandon and Robbins have two sons together.
Sarandon stars in 'The Lovely Bones', opening worldwide next month and Robbins last appeared in 2008’s 'City Of Ember'.
