Sarah Michelle Gellar pays touching tribute to Shannen Doherty in her Three Fictional Characters challenge

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar has paid the loveliest tribute to her pal Shannen Doherty, who is battling breast cancer.

As part of the viral ‘Three Fictional Characters’ challenge on Instagram, she opted for three of Shannen’s roles.

She posted the collage of the three characters that best describe her and opted for Jenny Wilder from Little House On The Prairie, Heather Duke from Heathers, and Maggie Malene from Girls Just Want To Have Fun.

She captioned the collage: “Hey @theshando I’ve taken describe yourself in #threecharacters one step further. Here’s me in three characters played by you lol #ShannenDoherty.”

Shannen responded with this awesome black and white throwback photo of the pair.

She wrote: “My #fbf is with @sarahmgellar cause she’s always made me laugh like this. And…. Just to date this picture, we were heading to a Ricky Martin concert…… Which was fantastic btw.”

The pair are old pals and two weeks ago Sarah shared this tribute to Shannen, who is undergoing chemotherapy.

She wrote: “I know it’s not #mondaymuse or anything like that, but I had to share.

“My friends @theshando has to be the bravest girl I know. Not only is she standing up to cancer, she is giving it a run for its money.

“She had chemo this week, but was still front and center raising awareness and money. It takes a strong #Shando to share her struggle so publicly, but she is doing it in the hopes to inspire others to fight this horrible disease.

“There are not enough words in any thesaurus to truly describe how proud I am of this woman.”
