Robert Downey Jr has left fans guessing about the future of Iron Man.
The Hollywood actor has been giving a series of mixed messages about whether there will be another movie in the hit superhero franchise.
In one interview this week he said that he would be playing Tony Stark/Iron Man again, but in a later interview he revealed that there were no plans for Iron Man 4.
In the first interview on Ellen DeGeneres’ TV show, Robert, 49, hinted he’d be donning the superhero’s bodysuit once again, saying: “We’re in the middle of negotiations.”
“So yes?” Ellen pressed him.
“OK, yes,” replied the star.
But the actor later appeared on The Late Show and told host David Letterman: “There are no plans for an Iron Man 4.”
When the host quizzed him again about whether he would make another film in the franchise, Robert said: “Just between us, no. But I’m going to do other stuff with Marvel. I’m still going to be involved with Marvel, and there’s going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen.”
OK so that’s a no, or a yes, or a maybe then.
