Rave reviews for Mersey documentary 'Of Time and the City'

Director: Terrence Davies

Cert: U

This being Liverpool’s turn as Euro Capital of Culture it falls on local Davies to take a look at the historic city in an eye-catching documentary full of love yet not afraid to glance under stones and into dark corners.

It remains to be seen if the film will attract a large cinema-going audience – it would, surely, be more suited for TV – but those who do take a chance will be richly rewarded.

They will, too, discover why the film has been picking up rave reviews around the world.

Star Rating: 4/5.
