Although, for one superfan the drama was only set to begin as her boyfriend used the live episode to propose to her.

Corrie producers had asked viewers what they wanted to see on the blackboard at the Rovers using the hashtag #CorrieBoard.

A fan called Adam won the contest by tweeting the show his proposal message over a zillion times.

The adorable message was then seen on camera halfway through the live episode before it panned away and cut to an ad break.
