Paltrow joins top cast for disaster movie

Gwyneth Paltrow has signed up for Steven Soderbergh's 'Contagion'.

The 'Ironman' actress is the latest in a string of stars to commit to the disaster movie, joining Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Matt Damon and Marion Cotillard in the big budget film.

The movie, which has been scripted by 'The Bourne Ultimatum' writer Scott Z. Burns, tells the tale of a deadly virus that spreads across the world.

It is believed the story, which is penned for a 2011 release, will have a similar narrative of interconnecting plotlines like Soderbergh's Oscar winning film 'Traffic'.

The future looks set to be busy for Gwyneth, who as well as promoting 'Iron Man 2' this year is currently filming 'Love Don't Let Me Down' before working on Tomas Alfredson-directed drama 'The Danish Girl' alongside Nicole Kidman.

Soderbergh has a number of projects to work on this year, including 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' with Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly and 'Cleo', a retelling of the story of Cleopatra, Antony and Caesar starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Ray Winstone.
