Nolan sister diagnosed with breast cancer

Linda Nolan, a member of Irish singing quintet The Nolans, has been diagnosed with breast cancer - just a year after her husband learned he was suffering from skin cancer.

The 47-year-old singer-turned-theatre star was given the news earlier this week but vows to fight the disease and return to the stage.

Her eldest sister Anne was also diagnosed with the condition six years ago but has since been given the all-clear.

Linda says: "It was a terrible shock, of course, and I'm still coming to terms with it.

"I know this is something that affects so many women and like them, all I can do is stay as positive as possible."

The 'I'm in the mood for dancing' star will begin treatment within the next two weeks.
