No 'American Idol' appearance for BGT winners

'Britain's Got Talent' winners Ashleigh and Pudsey have turned down an offer to appear on 'American Idol'.

Producers from the US talent show approached the dancing dog act about starring on the final of the programme, which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday, but they were told the pair are too busy.

However, Ashleigh and Pudsey are said to be planning trips to New York City and Los Angeles soon for other major TV appearances.

A source explained: “He just can’t clear his busy schedule. However he will head to America soon. He’ll do shows and will have meetings over movie and endorsement opportunities.”

Meanwhile, Ashleigh has splashed out some of her and Pudsey's £500,000 (€618,376) 'Britain's Got Talent' winnings on an 8ft brick wall, complete security cameras and lights, around their family home in Northamptonshire to keep out potential dognappers.

The 17-year-old brunette is paranoid that somebody might try to pinch her pooch after 15 million viewers saw the pair triumph on 'Britain's Got Talent' last weekend.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “A pile of bricks and mortar is probably not what most people would spend some of their half a million quid on, but for Ashleigh it’s essential.

“Pudsey is Britain’s most recognisable dog and a real temptation for dognappers.

“So they’ve booked a firm to come round, rip down the old wooden fence and install a proper brick wall.”
