New acts added to Electric Picnic 2015 line-up

Blur, Sam Smith and Interpol are topping the list of 23 additional acts announced for Electric Picnic 2015 today.

Drumroll please …

Probably the most talked about act, Blur will be making their Stradbally debut for a headline show at this year’s festival to back the release of their brand new number one album The Magic Whip - their first in 16 years.

Four- time Grammy winner Sam Smith will also joining the already stellar line-up after smashing the Laois location in previous years.

INTERPOL last graced the Stradbally Estate in 2011 bringing the main stage to a rapturous close and since then New York rockers took a short hiatus, trying out some solo projects and losing bassist Carlos Dengler.

Now as a three piece the band are back touring their fifth studio album El Pinto.

Other acts just unveiled to perform at the festival include the iconic Grace Jones, FKA Twigs, Paul Kalkbrenner as well as some great homgrown acts such as The Riptide Movement, SOAK and Gavin James.

Excited? More acts will be released in the coming months.

Weekend tickets (September 4-6) are on sale now for all usual outlets and, priced €229.50.
