Neeson and Bono to work on showband movie

Liam Neeson and Bono are combining talents for a new film about the Irish showband scene.

Neeson, who hails from Ballymena, will play an ageing showband star living in Vegas and prone to drink who finds his life turned on its head following the arrival of a mysterious stranger.

'The Virgin of Las Vegas' is set during the heyday of the showbands.

Bono will be involved in the production side of the movie.
