Mills voted off 'Dancing on Ice'

Heather Mills was voted off 'Dancing On Ice' last night.

The charity campaigner – who lost her left leg from the knee down after being hit by a motorcycle in 1993 and has had to use a prosthetic limb ever since – was the fifth star to be voted off the ice-skating show after receiving only one vote from the judges to save her.

The ex-wife of Sir Paul McCartney and her professional dancing partner Matt Evers faced 'Hollyoaks' actor Kieron Richardson and his partner Brianne Delcourt in the dance-off.

Judge Nicky Slater voted to save Heather, 42, while the other four – consisting of Karen Barber, Jason Gardiner, Emma Bunton and Robin Cousins - chose to save Kieron.

After her departure was announced, Heather thanked her dance partner and the behind-the-scenes team who had helped with her prosthetic skating leg.

She said: "I'm so excited that all the kids who have lost limbs are now going out to skate. If anyone wants to get in contact and ask how it is to skate, me and Matt will be happy to help.

"Just get out there - it's the nearest thing to flying. Thank you to everybody for helping me."

Another dramatic moment of the night was when the former 'Emmerdale' actress Hayley Tamaddon – the favourite to win the series - was reduced to tears after she was dropped on her head mid-performance.

However, Hayley and her partner Daniel Whiston continued their routine and even managed to perform the infamous head-banger move afterwards.
