Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey split up because their relationship was “not fun anymore”.
The former couple went their separate ways in April this year – almost five years after they started dating – and the blonde beauty admits the pair analysed their feelings for a long time before ending their romance.
Asked by US TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey when she knew it was over, Jenny said: “You know, the simple word I can give – and there's a few, so let me say a few. The first thing is, when it's not fun anymore, you need to start investigating and do an inquiry into the relationship."
The 37-year-old star – who has an eight-year-old son Evan with ex-husband John Asher – also insisted she had never even considered a reconciliation with the 48-year-old actor.
When Oprah questioned her about a possible reunion, she replied: “God, another good question. I didn't even think about that one, though."
Jenny recently admitted she is enjoying being single and feels more “peaceful” since moving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
She said: "I'm enjoying the single life tremendously! I was never really a fan of Los Angeles. Coming out to Las Vegas, believe it or not, I feel more peaceful.
"Evan has seen every single show and he's gone to every casino, every arcade. There really is only so much you can do with a kid."
