McAdams set to star in 'Sherlock Holmes' movie

Rachel McAdams will star alongside Robert Downey Jr in the film adaptation of 'Sherlock Holmes', according to Internet reports.

'The Notebook' actress has been cast as the leading lady in Guy Ritchie's remake of the fictional sleuth's adventures, reports Access Hollywood.

McAdams will be announced as the female lead on Wednesday.

Jude Law is allegedly in talks to play the detective's sidekick, Dr. Watson, and production on the movie is slated to begin in London in October.
