Made In Chelsea is returning soon and will star its first ever black cast member

Made In Chelsea will soon return to TV screens as the group of friends and “frenemies” have now come back home from their summer residence in the south of France.

Along with the series regulars, including Jamie Laing, Binky Felstead, Mark-Francis Vandelli and Ollie Locke among others, there will be three new cast members for reality TV fans to get to know.

One of these is 26-year-old former semi-professional rugby player Akin Solanke-Caulker, who is the first ever black cast member to appear on the popular E4 series.

The sports agency owner is a close friend of long-time star Alex Mytton and he also used to play rugby with Josh Patterson, aka JP.

The Made In Chelsea newbie said of his arrival on the programme: “It’s definitely overdue, they need a black person on the show; my mum keeps saying I’m representing.”

He added, to The Sun: “I’m not just representing myself but I’m representing other people that look like me, not just the racial side of things but also people who are from where I am from.”

Akin is keen to woo the ladies of Chelsea with his charm on the series, so we’re sure he’ll manage to stir up some lustful drama!

Also joining the cast are Emily Blackwell, a 20-year-old professional model, and 23-year-old Julius Cowdrey, who is half-Swedish and comes from cricket royalty.

Emily is friends with MIC regular Jess Woodley and is keen to meet some of the Chelsea lads to spark up a romance, despite being called an “ice maiden” by her family.

Julius has some big shoes to fill, as his late grandfather Lord Colin Cowdrey was the England cricket captain and received a life peerage for his sporting services, while his dad Chris captained England and Kent.

The likes of Francis Boulle, Fredrik Ferrier and Oliver Proudlock are also going to reappear on the show, something fans will no doubt be thrilled about.

Series 12 of Made In Chelsea will begin on Monday October 10 at 9pm on E4.
