Louise Redknapp: Jamie not worried about 'Strictly curse'

Former Eternal singer Louise Redknapp has insisted that her husband Jamie is not concerned about her getting cosy with male dancers when she takes part in Strictly Come Dancing.

Louise, 41, has been married to the former footballer for 19 years and the pair have two sons together, prompting her to laugh off the so-called “Strictly curse” that has seen the demise of numerous couples after one party gets close to a dancer.

She said: “After 19 years of marriage he knows they would soon send me back. We have never really been over-involved in each other’s careers. When he played football I wasn’t massively there every week in the front row with my Liverpool shirt on.

“I think he knows me and I think he knows I will go into this with the right mind and will only do what I feel comfortable with doing.”

Louise admitted her eldest son is far more concerned about her appearance on the show, saying: “My 12-year-old has said ‘please don’t embarrass me’. I still have to carry on with the school run on the Monday after the show on Saturday and Sunday.

“My seven-year-old doesn’t care either way, when I’m at home everything goes back to normal.”

Louise also said she will be shunning the revealing costumes that are commonplace on the show, saying: “I’m the boring one. With the dresses I need to feel comfortable. You take your age into consideration and your family.”
