Louis Walsh's X Factor jig is upstaged by a falling dancer

We usually enjoy Dermot O’Leary kicking off the X Factor live show with a little dance, but things were stepped up a level tonight for the “Louis Loves” theme.

Tonight, judge Louis Walsh took the stage to open the episode with an Irish jig – and the results were pretty chaotic.

Contestants this evening will be belting out their take on some of the veteran judge’s favourite songs and acts, which will doubtless include plenty of hits from the Emerald Isle.

Louis’s Irish dancing was a little awkward to begin with, but things got a whole lot worse when one of the Irish dance troupe performing with him completely stacked it in a very obvious way.

You couldn’t miss the poor dancer who was right in front of the cameras.

Even without the dramatic fall, it was possibly the most entertaining thing we’ll see on the show tonight.

In the manner of Ed Balls, he may not be the best dancer, but he was certainly enjoying himself.

Maybe Louis should take over Dermot’s weekly dance spot from now on.
