Liam Neeson to be awarded with special award at tonight's IFTAs

The stars of the big and small screens are getting ready to walk the red carpet for the IFTAs in Dublin.

The IFTA Film and Drama Awards will take place tonight in the Mansion House in Dublin.

Colin Farrell, Domhnall Gleeson, Saoirse Ronan and Evanna Lynch are among those nominated for the best actor awards.

CEO of the Irish Film and Television Academy Aine Moriarty, says Liam Neeson will be presented with a special award by President Micheal D Higgins, for his contribution to cinema: “I think the big interest all round is Liam Neeson coming home to be honoured with the award for outstanding contribution to cinema.

“Liam is an international star, he is probably one of Ireland’s biggest star’s and to receive that award tonight from the president everyone is going to be watching with interest.”
