Knightley hots up period drama

While the BBC’s version of Pride & Prejudice is often deemed the best, this one (Universal, €24.99) has the gorgeous Keira Knightley as the delectable Lizzie in this Jane Austen classic.

Matthew McFayden is the intriguing Mr Darcy, but it’s Knightley who gives this period romance the right touch.

The extras have a real Austen feel, with a look at the Bennet family trees, the life and times of Jane Austen, the politics of dating (enough said) and the film’s stately homes. Tacked on is the alternative US ending about which I’ll say nothing.
