'Just Wright' a forgettable romance

'Just Wright' a forgettable romance

Director: Sanaa Hamn

Cast: Queen Latifah, Paula Patton, Common

A romantic film that adds nothing to the genre … it’s not bad, merely ordinary in that it gives the performers little to work with.

Latifah, who carries the film, plays heart-of-golf physical therapist Leslie Wright given the task of helping top basketball star Scott McKnight (rap star Common) save his career … and falling in love with him.

But there is Leslie’s shallow, long-time friend Morgan (Patton) lurking in the shadows and determined to become a basketball WAG … the fame, the glamour, the money, the shopping!

The game commences. So will Common see through the scheming minx and find true love under his nose?

It’s all as simple as that. It’s a sweet, romantic yarn that won’t upset the horses and fade in the morning.

Star Rating: 2/5
