Top Irish model Thalia Heffernan has revealed that she was viciously attacked while on her way to work yesterday morning.
In a Facebook post, the 20-year-old said a teenage girl hit her three or more times in the face before robbing her bag.
“Another young guy came behind me and grabbed the other side. Nearly pulling my jumper and arms with them, they ran away with everything I had,” she continued.
“I knew if I tried to fight back that it would end badly, and maybe even with me in hospital”.
The attack told place on Mercer Street just after 4am.
Thalia was on her way to work for Brown Thomas’ autumn/winter collection.
The model also spoke about the incident on the RTÉ one’s Brendan O’Connor show this morning in a hope to create awareness for others travelling to work early in the morning.
“I wasn’t trying to highlight what happened to me individually, I was trying to highlight what’s happening on a larger scale around the city,” she said.

Since then, her bag has been found at a Cuffe Street flat but all the contents were missing.
Heffernan has reported the incident to gardaí and they are investigating.
