'I'm so sorry': Lorraine gets Miss Piggy and Peggy Mitchell confused on TV

Lorraine had an unfortunate slip-up when she got Muppets star Miss Piggy mixed up with beloved EastEnders character Peggy Mitchell.

The daytime TV presenter was teasing a Muppets feature before linking to her interview with EastEnders actor Derek Martin, who played Charlie Slater.

And with the soap on the brain, she managed to merge the two, declaring: “Welcome back, are the rumours true – has Miss Peggy…”

She then dissolved into laughter, realising her mistake.

Lorraine explained: “Miss Piggy even. I was talking about EastEnders you see, and I’m getting all confused.

“Has she finally moved on from Kermit? Do find out later… I’m so sorry.”

Peggy Mitchell – rather than Miss Piggy – is played by Barbara Windsor.
