Hunt on for actress to play Jade Goody in musical

A musical about the life of Jade Goody is in the pipeline, it was revealed today.

The late reality TV star’s friend Danny Hayward said the search was on for someone to play the former dental nurse from Bermondsey, south London, who shot to fame in 'Big Brother'.

Goody died aged 27 on March 22 after a battle with cervical cancer, leaving a husband, Jack Tweed, and two young sons Bobby and Freddy.

Mr Hayward told ITN On: “Various projects we’ve got in the pipeline... (one) is a musical we’ve got coming out in about four months’ time and it’s going to be the story of her life and we’re going to be on the search for who is going to play Jade.”

Diaries chronicling Goody’s battle with cancer were published last week, with royalties going to help pay for her sons’ upbringing.
