Hollywood blockbuster Transformers shuts down Newcastle city centre

The cast and crew of the latest instalment of Hollywood blockbuster franchise Transformers took to the streets of Newcastle, bringing the city centre to a standstill.

Michael Bay is back again to direct Transformers: The Last Knight, the fifth instalment of the franchise, and filmed car chase scenes on Grainger Street and Grey Street in the northern city.

The set was adorned with an impressive fleet of sports cars including the famous yellow Lamborghini.

The Hollywood film, starring Anthony Hopkins and Mark Wahlberg is due to be released in cinemas next summer.
