Gemma Arterton: I've placed a bet on the next Bond

Former Bond girl Gemma Arterton is certain she knows who’ll be the next 007.

Idris Elba, Aidan Turner, James Norton, Michael Fassbender and Tom Hiddleston have all been linked to the spy role.

Gemma, who starred as Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace, told ITV’s Lorraine she’s placed a bet on who will land one of the biggest parts in the movie world.

But she refused to reveal who she’d put down her money for.

“I’ve put a bet on someone but I’m not going to say… I’ve got a hunch,” she said.

Gemma, who stars with Glenn Close on her latest film The Girl With All The Gifts, is also moving to producing and directing.

The actress said: “I’d like to direct one day. I’d have to find the right script but that way you are in control a little bit more and you have more of a say and can be more creative.”
