Florence looking forward to 'intense' new album

Florence and the Machine's second album is to be "intense" and feature "weird drum patterns".

The 'Lungs' band are currently taking a time out from performing while they focus on writing their second album, and lead singer Florence Welch admits she is thrilled will how different it sounds to the debut LP.

She explained: "It's really intense so far! It's even more intense than the first album. It's got extra bass. We're putting a lot of bass on it and really huge weird drum patterns. There are these intense choral vocals.

"I'm going to try and do some stuff that's stripped back, but there's nothing I like more than endless layering and harmonies."

The 24-year-old star's music career has gone from strength to strength since her debut track 'Kiss With A Fist' was launched in 2008.

However, Florence admits she finds it confusing when her music is included in movie soundtracks.

She told ARTISTdirect.com: "When they did the 'Eat, Pray, Love' trailer, I was like: 'OK, so that means Julia Roberts and I are like friends, right?' Isn't that what that means? To me the movie world seems like a whole fantasy world. It's exciting!”

If children are confident in interacting with others it takes away so much stress and social anxiety for them. Not too long ago, my daughter Joan and I were out with friends at a restaurant and we wanted extra water and a few other bits and Joan volunteered to go up and ask the waiter for them. My friend was really surprised at this and said that none of her children would willingly do that.Mum’s the word: We should look for chances to strengthen our kids’ social skills
