Five reasons why everyone should follow Marian Keyes on social media

Five reasons why everyone should follow Marian Keyes on social media

Ever since hit Irish author Marian Keyes joined Twitter in 2012, we’ve somehow grown to love her more than we already do - if that's even possible?

From her location in 'DunlaoghaireLand', she keeps us entertained on a daily basis and here's why:

1. She uses hashtags like #skankygee.

Turns out Marian is a big fan of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother series - well once she figured out how to locate Channel 5.

And even if you aren't following this year’s series, her live tweeting commentary is sure to entertain you anyway. Just by labelling this year’s contestant and model Cami-Li as "#skankygee" has had us in stitches.

She was even invited to be on CBB’s spin-off show to talk all things Big Brother.

2. Her impromptu poetry.

Her recent short poem praising London Airport is definitely up there with the classics.

She even inspired Amy Huberman to express her poetic side.

Well played, Amy.

3. She’s hilarious.

4. She has mastered the art of Instagram

Well, not really - but we like it just the way it is. The author, whose made her Instagram debut yesterday, has already showed us a bath mat, two pictures of her broken glasses and four pictures of her fish and chips dinner.

But it's her captions that are everything.

“Thanks for the folleys! Here is a nice bathmat”

“The handle JUMPED off my reading glasses! Just HOPPED off!” which was followed by “...it was sort-of-like a Kamikaze thing.”

“My inaugral Instagrammed meal! Truly I am now one of you!,” she captioned her first picture, followed by “My local chipper delivers! This is potentially DISASTROUS knowledge”

She then took the time to play around with some “foncy filters”

5. Did we mention she’s hilarious?

Oh Marian please never change, we love it. Although we probably did get a little too over-excited in the office when this happened.
