Britney Spears fans have rallied about her after reports emerge that she checked herself into a mental health facility.
According to TMZ, the pop star has admitted herself to the mental health facility to have some "me time."
Spears posted an image on Instagram with the text:
In the caption, she wrote that everyone needs “a little ‘me time’,” followed by a smiley emoji.
It has been said that her father's illness has continued to take a toll on the pop star.
66-year-old Jamie Spears is struggling with issues in his internal organs and last year suffered a life-threatening colon rupture.
On January 4, the singer put her Las Vegas residency on hold to focus on family.
"A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died," she said in a statement on Instagram.
"I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand."

I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say. I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com. I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all… always.
Fans of the 37-year-old have been sending messages of support to the singer on social media.
i'm glad britney spears is getting the help she needs and i hope in 2019 society doesn't make the same mistake twice and mock her mental health— ilana kaplan (@lanikaps) April 4, 2019
Sending lots of love & well-wishes to @BritneySpears. An angel that deserves all the happiness in the world. ❤️👑— Frank Costa (@feistyfrank) April 3, 2019
before i get off my soap box i'd like to hope everyone practices what they've been preaching for the last decade about growing from the way we treated britney spears in 2007 with this recent news. mental health isn't a punchline. be decent. be kind. we're all human here.💜— meeka mash (@meekasjay) April 3, 2019
i will fight anyone that makes jokes about mental health and britney spears.— 🐽alim kheraj (@alimkheraj) April 3, 2019
