Eminem celebrates 11 years of being sober

Rapper Eminem has celebrated 11 years of sobriety.

The chart-topping musician, 46, shared news of the milestone with fans on social media, posting a picture of a medallion he received for the achievement.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, captioned the post: “11 years – still not afraid.”

He was congratulated in the comments section by fans. Eminem has previously told of his battles with substance abuse and revealed he nearly died from an accidental overdose in 2007.

He told Rolling Stone: “I knew I had to change my life. But addiction is a tricky thing. I think I relapsed within… three weeks?

“And within in a month it ramped right back to where it was before. That’s what really freaked me out.

“That’s when I knew: I either get help, or I am going to die.”

Eminem is one of the best-selling artists of all-time, with more than 200 million records sold worldwide.

His most recent album, 2018’s Kamikaze, spent four weeks on top of the UK charts.
