Elizabeth Banks has a director for Pitch Perfect 3

Pitch pipes at the ready – Pitch Perfect 3 is a-ca-ready for action.

Ever since Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks, who produced the first two films in the series, announced that she wouldn’t direct the third instalment, the spot at the film’s helm has remained open.

But now, Elizabeth has announced that the new director will be Step Up All In boss Trish Sie.

Elizabeth, who also has a small part in the a cappella series, was originally slated to direct the third film after the second one, which she directed, performed so well at the box office. Earlier this year she backed away from the role.

Trish is known for her innovative music videos, including the Grammy-winning video for OK Go’s Here It Goes Again.

Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will reprise their roles in Pitch Perfect 3, which Universal Pictures has slated for release in December 2017.
