Eddie Redmayne reveals some amazing baby news on the Oscars red carpet

Eddie Redmayne revealed he was regretting his choice of outfit as he made his way down the Oscars red carpet.

The best actor nominee told Lara Spencer on ABC: “It’s so nice to be here. I’m so inappropriately dressed, though, because last year it rained and I was worried it would rain again so I wore velvet and now I’m sweating like a fiend.”

He also revealed he has something to celebrate today, even if Leonardo DiCaprio beats him to the best actor gong.

The star, who is expecting his first child later this year, said: “It’s so exciting and mildly terrifying but my brother (James) in Hong Kong just had a baby girl about two hours ago so there is a new Redmayne in the world.”

Eddie and his wife Hannah are going to be first-time parents later this year.
