Doherty in court on dangerous driving charge

Singer Pete Doherty will appear in court today accused of dangerous driving after a gig.

Doherty is accused of driving his Mercedes car dangerously through the streets of Gloucester following a show in front of an audience of 300 at the Guildhall in June.

Doherty, who lives in a country house in Durley, near Marlborough, Wiltshire, was charged after officers spotted a car being driven erratically.

At an earlier hearing he admitted two drugs possession charges and driving with no licence or insurance, all relating to the same incident.

He is on bail and will appear at Gloucester Crown Court where the case is listed for plea and sentence.
