Doherty fails to show for Paris gig

British rocker Pete Doherty left French fans disappointed last night when he failed to show up for a Paris show.

The troubled star was due to perform at Le Grand Rex in Paris, but left fans waiting for three hours and then missed the gig completely.

Initial rumours suggested Doherty had been hospitalised, but these reports were quickly denied.

It appears Doherty was stuck on a Eurostar train, which was delayed for four hours.

He arrived in Paris at 11pm - too late for his Babyshambles appearance at le Grand Rex.

Fans managed to catch the opening act, French singer Daniel Darc, but were left very disappointed by Doherty's no-show.

One devotee was just relieved that her hero was not hospitalised.

"I'm disappointed of course," she said. "But I'm also relieved to know that it's only because of an Eurostar delay, and not because he's been hospitalised."
