Dixon thrilled at 'X Factor' role

Alesha Dixon is "ecstatic" at the prospect of joining 'The X Factor'.

The 32-year-old singer - who is best-known as a judge on the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing' - is expected to join Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Take That singer Gary Barlow on the show following the departure of Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole, who are both working on the US version of the musical talent show.

A source said: "Simon has spent weeks handpicking the right people, he's a perfectionist who changes his mind by the hour.

"There have been heated debates and disagreements almost every day between Cowell, ITV and senior executives over who they need to sign up to give it some extra stardust.

"The dynamics on the panel are really important and Alesha gets on really well with Gary Barlow. Alesha is ecstatic."

Alesha - who previously worked with Gary on her solo music career - is said to be thrilled at the development, which is an "offer she can't refuse".

A source told the Sunday Mirror: "She never thought in a million years that she would be asked.

"But talks have been going on for weeks and have been going well. She has had meeting with producers and realises it's her dream job - an offer she can't refuse.

"She'd be sad to turn her back on 'Strictly', but 'X Factor' is in a completely different league."
