Depp tops Hollywood earners list

Johnny Depp is the highest earning actor in Hollywood.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star has made £$75 million in the last 12 months, putting him at the top of the highest earning list compiled by business bible Forbes.com, 10 places higher than in the 2009 list.

An appearance as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland' and filming for new epic 'The Tourist' is thought to have pushed Depp's earnings to the high figure.

Comedy actor Ben Stiller came in second in the list, raking in $53 million at the box office between June 2009 and June 2010.

Tom Hanks, Adam Sandler and Leonardo DiCaprio make up the rest of the top five, earning $45 million, $40 million and $28 million respectively.

Daniel Radcliffe was the highest paid British actor in the list, coming in at sixth, earning $25 million - ahead of both Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

In total the top ten highest-paid actors in Hollywood earned $349 million.

Last year's highest earning actor Harrison Ford was nowhere to be seen in the 2010 list.
