Pop beauty Kylie Minogue is expected to make her first public appearance since her diagnosis from breast cancer at the Commonwealth Games in her native Melbourne, Australia, next month.
Minogue had her final session of radiation therapy last Friday, and organisers of the sports extravaganza are keen to bag her for the event.
A source says: "She is Melbourne's very own girl-next-door and it would be fabulous if she was one of the guests of honour at the opening ceremony.
"Everyone is mindful that she has been advised not to overdo things, but if she agreed to sing, that would be the icing on the cake as far as the organisers are concerned.
"It is very likely she will be at the ceremony, but everything is being kept secret in order to give the party that surprise element."
