Clooney up for Emmy charity-work gong

George Clooney will be recognised for his charity work at this year's Emmy Awards.

Clooney is being honoured for his work in Darfur as well as his involvement in the Haiti earthquake appeal and the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

The organisers of the ceremony - which will take place in LA on August 29 - say the 49-year-old was an "obvious choice".
