Chance The Rapper, Wu-Tang Clan and more provide inspiration for Marvel comic hip hop covers

Hip hop has always taken inspiration from comic books, whether that be through Ghostface Killa’s moniker Tony Starks, MF DOOM’s mask, or the volume of lyrics referencing superheroes from each of the various universes.

Marvel has released its latest set of hip hop comic book covers, after releasing 50 in 2015, and the preview of the larger drop coming later this year features legends like Big Daddy Kane, Wu-Tang Clan and LL Cool J, as well as modern greats like Chance The Rapper.

Comic books, and Marvel in particular, have been working hard to diversify their image, and through their Netflix universe, the re-launch of the Black Panther comic and the Black Panther film, they’re doing a pretty good job at making their heroes relevant again, and to a wider audience.
