Campbell had stalkers after Scream

Actress Neve Campbell was terrorised by a string of stalkers after the Scream horror films brought her international fame.

The 32-year-old, who played Sidney Prescott in the hit slasher trilogy, claims one disturbed fan thought he was William Shakespeare and wrote her poetry.

She says: "Just after the Scream films the attention was probably at its peak, and it was very difficult to deal with. I had to cope with several stalkers and a lot of very strange letters.

"But it's not like that now. The people who are watching the sort of stuff I do now are older and more mature - they have jobs and lives and families. I don't get the obsessive stuff any more."
