Brosnan's son celebrates sobriety

Pierce Brosnan's son Chris is celebrating sobriety after years of drug and legal problems.

The Irish actor adopted Chris when he married his birth mother Cassandra in 1980. Sadly, Cassandra died in 1991 after a battle with ovarian cancer.

After Chris started running into trouble with the law and developed a cocaine addiction, Brosnan decided to take a step back from his son, telling him: "Get busy living, or get busy dying."

The 32-year-old is now clean after spending time in a rehabilitation clinic in Somerset, England, and was able to join his father at the British premiere of his new movie The Matador this week.

Chris says: "Because of the things my dad and the rest of the family said, I knew I had to do something.

"Sometimes a family has to step away, but you know they will always be there for you."
