Bono's daughter stars in Script video

The Script settled for Bono’s daughter acting in their new video after Angelina Jolie turned it down.

The Irish band joked that they only chose Eve Hewson to star in the video for forthcoming single ‘For The First Time’ after Hollywood A-listers turned them down.

Singer Danny O'Donoghue said the ‘Breakeven’ group – who have already forged a relationship with Eve’s US rocker father, who is a fan of the band - decided to approach the 19-year-old upcoming actress after seeing her showreel.

He told the Daily Record newspaper: “We’ve got a great storyline in the video and wanted and got someone good. Brad and Angelina said no.”

“She’s a fellow Irish person, so we thought ‘yeah’. It was a six-minute short about two people from Ireland living in America.”

Danny added the band decided to hire actors for the video as they weren’t confident about acting in it themselves.

He said: “It was too hard for me to take on the onus of being the actor in our own video and we wanted a great performance.”

Eve – full name Memphis Eve – has appeared in US indie film ‘The 27 Club’ and has recently started filming ‘This Must Be The Place’, which also features Sean Penn.

‘For The First Time’ is the first single from The Script’s second album ‘Science and Faith’ which is released on September 10.
